i found this thread while looking for the solution to a similar situation. I too am looking for a phone with a QWERTY keyboard that does not require a data plan, but I also need a calendar that can sync with my mac computer. I don't care what calendar it is (google/ical/other) and and am willing to buy/download third party software, but am not sure about Bit Pim since fourm users' reviews seem mixed at best. I would like to stay with Verizon (cdma) if possible, but haven't found a phone on their network to fit my needs, so now I am open to any carrier. Any advice appreciated.

You can use it for guessing commands as well. It will list out the possible permutations if there is more than 1.
Oooh, excellent. This way I don't have to remember if the s or the c comes first in fsck. :p
Okay, I've clearly had waaaaay too much caffeine. :)

I've lost several relatives to cancer.
More recently I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2002 (lost 6" of it), suffered through months of chemo, but came out OK, then in 2004 found out my Gallbladder burst, OK so the Appendix went also, then to top everything off the cancer came back and invaded my liver. In 2005 I lost over 75% of my liver in a 9 hour operation. I'm just now beginning to fully recover and my liver is almost back to it's original size I'm just grateful to be alive.
I Fold so others may not have to endure what I have, and Kudos to all those that do. I also try to spread the word and get everyone I know who has a computer to do also.

The OP stated iLife 11
There were multiple iPhoto updates for the version in the iLife 11 suite.
It's similar to asking 'what version of OS X are you running'- even if OP already said Leopard it would be necessary to find out what specific version he's running (for example, 10.5.2).

In OS X you can literally control just about any aspect of the the operating system via terminal. I would argue that an expert *nix user has more "unrestricted control" over OS X than an expert windows user can have under XP.
I think an important thing to consider is how easy to use this control over the system is, a unix terminal is not very easy to use. Windows will offer GUI tools for such tasks like regedit. Though the thing is there is really very little a typical power user will need to change in OSX that can't be done from the GUI. The only thing I've needed to change from the terminal is the smb.conf file to put in the correct workgroup.

For the five items that was just a test, I made a version with the entire Query result :
$sql_rotation=mysql_query("SELECT photo FROM photo_atelier WHERE vedette='oui' ");
echo $nbr;
while($ligne_rotation=mysql_fetch_array($sql_rotation)){
$array[$i]="../media/atelier/grand/".$ligne_rotation['photo']."";
$i++;
}
var Pix = new Array
(
<?php
$i=1;
while($i <= $nbr){
if($i !=($nbr)){
echo "'".$array[$i]."',";}
else{
echo "'".$array[$i]."'";}
$i++;
}
?>
);
Time is user adjustabkle with the ligne: var timeDelay = 3;//second
For the CSS issue I fully agree, this site is still in early developrment, css standardization will come along the way ( o;
Thanks for your suggestion.

So, just to be clear, I need to format the opti-bay drive partition as NTFS so Windows can read it?
You'll need to create a new partition using Disk Utility. Once Win7 is up and running, just reformat it as NTFS.

Hey everyone, first post here, and also a Mac noob, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section :)
I am trying to enable file sharing in OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. I intend to share files on my MacBook with other Windows and Linux computers on my home network. From what I understand, the procedure is as follows:
1) Open up System Preferences and click on Sharing under Internet & Wireless
2) Click on File Sharing on the left, and then add a folder to be shared. After doing this, three Users appear on the right: System Administrator, Administrator, and Everyone (all have read/write access).
3) I want my folder to be password-protected and accessible only to specific users, so I change the permissions for Everyone to No Access. I then add a user (sharing only account) with a specified username and password.
4) I click on Options and select the "Share files and folders using SMB (Windows)", and enable SMB sharing for the user that I created in the previous step. I click on Done, and exit System Preferences.
After performing the above steps, I go to my Linux computer and attempt to connect to the shared folder on my Macbook. I was surprised to be able to access the folder without being prompted for a username and password. The same thing can be seen on my Windows computer.
I went back into Systems Preferences/Sharing on my MacBook, and noticed that the user that I had created has disappeared from the Users list, and all the permissions have been reverted to the default Read & Write Access (including Everyone, which I had changed to No Access earlier). I tried the above procedure again and still ended up with the same result.
Why are the user permissions not being saved? Has anyone here experienced a similar issue?

Pokemon still going strong? :confused:
After playing Sapphire/Ruby, it feels the game is too simple. Much hasn't changed. It was acceptable for Red/Blue and Gold/Silver since they were GB/GBC games. But, with the GBA I wish they did more. Particularly the animations. And with Diamond/Pearl, I wish they would do even more.
I'll probably get both. One for me, and one for my sister. This game might be worth exchanging friend codes for.

Thanks for the post. I am really interested in a leather case with a front cover.
The site says "preorder." But you have already received the case. So those cases on the site are actually in stock?
I wonder if the case I like (Jacka Type) is in stock.

Hi,
I wrote a simple server application in C. This server do nothing except print the received message, then exit. Here is the code
int listenfd,connfd,n;
struct sockaddr_in servaddr,cliaddr;
socklen_t clilen;
char *mesg = (char*) malloc(1000*sizeof(char));
listenfd=socket(PF_INET,SOCK_STREAM,0);
bzero(&servaddr,sizeof(servaddr));
servaddr.sin_family = AF_INET;
servaddr.sin_addr.s_addr = INADDR_ANY;
servaddr.sin_port=htons(20600);
bind(listenfd,(struct sockaddr *)&servaddr,sizeof(servaddr));
listen(listenfd,5);
clilen=sizeof(cliaddr);
connfd = accept(listenfd,(struct sockaddr *)&cliaddr,&clilen);
n = (int) recvfrom(connfd,mesg,1000,0,(struct sockaddr *)&cliaddr,&clilen);
sendto(connfd,mesg,n,0,(struct sockaddr *)&cliaddr,sizeof(cliaddr));
printf("-------------------------------------------------------\n");
mesg[n] = 0;
printf("Received the following:\n");
printf("%s\n",mesg);
printf("-------------------------------------------------------\n");
close(connfd);
close(listenfd);
I managed to establish a connection using telnet and running

Anything that requires more disk access will lead to more wear and tear. Secure erasing, which generally involved overwriting "blank" areas of the disk with a series of information, will always be more effort, and hence more wear and tear, than simply removing a directory entry and leaving the data on the drive.

Google search for whichever ipsw you want. A number of websites post d/l links direct from apple's server.
You still have to install through iTunes. Press option plus restore to open the dialog box.

It isn't called a file server for fun . . . ;)
It might as well get corrupted during all the copying back and forth you are suggesting. Bits can be flipped and you probably don't utilize a filesystem that can secure you against bit-rot for maximum data integrity.
