I run a windows server at home with my movie collection and it has that uptime and then some.
In fact the only time it goes down is when the power goes out or I turn it off when I go on vacation.
On my acer windows 7 laptop, aside from going to sleep I haven't restarted it in months.

Basically you are freeing memory you did not malloc/calloc.
Actually there is a malloc, it's embedded in the memcpy.
void *pointerGivenByInstanceFunction = memcpy(malloc(byteSizeOfElement),storage+i*byteSizeOfElement,byteSizeOfElement);
EDIT: Sorry ignore that. It's the "read out values bis" loop that's the problem.
Yes it's as robbieduncan says. In your one-line version, you're losing the pointer the copy of the double on the heap. Then later you try to pass the address of the copy on the stack to free, which rightly causes a crash.
Basically you can't do this in one line. You could, though, cast directly to a double pointer and still free it, like so:
double *pointerGivenByInstanceFunction = (double *)memcpy(malloc(byteSizeOfElement),storage+i*byteSizeOfElement,byteSizeOfElement);
double returnElement = *pointerGivenByInstanceFunction;
NSLog(@"%g",returnElement);
free(pointerGivenByInstanceFunction);

This has been happening to a lot of people with the new '11 mbp's. Apparently it's the aluminum casing (from what has been said). Some people have the issue, other's dont. If you're in bootcamp I am guessing your in Windows and maybe the hardware didn't install correctly on that side.

But if I was on the same network as you, you very well might show up in the finder side bar account name and all. For people who file sharing is enabled this is a huge flaw.
Except you forgot the part where you need to have knowledge of how the hack actually works. The majority of bugs are just not common knowledge or as easy as browsing someone on the same network.

That article is rather inaccurate. The Killzone footage was pre-rendered, for one the graphics of both consoles will not be too terribly different, save on exclusives.

I'd second the recommendation for the 5400. I have found that the scan quality is quite good (text or photos), printing low quality B/W pages is cheap and fast, and I've been pretty happy with the occasional high quality photo print. I think the provided software is a little clunky, but it seems to get the job done (completed about 500 scans) with lots of "save as" options. I paid $125 about 1 year ago ... $60 is a great deal!

Basically the Mac Pro comes in two different fundamental configurations: a single CPU version and a dual CPU version. These are two different chipsets and unless you reeeally like overspending it is not wise to change this later.
Consider your needs and first of all determine if the software you'll be using can take advantage of a high number of cores. If you don't know a google or forums search can help, you can also ask about specific software here.
Once you have determined how many cores you need (or want) you can go straight to the model you need (stock or customized at the apple online store) or, if you are feeling adventurous, you can, as you are proposing, buy a single cpu or dual cpu model and upgrade it with very specific processors. If you want a dual CPU model you CAN'T mix different processors; they have to be identical. If you buy a single CPU model you CAN'T add another CPU later unless you also change the chipset, which is, as I said, very expensive.
I'd say more here about which CPUs you can upgrade to but I think you first need to determine your actual needs and your budget.
Alright. Thank you VERY much for all your help! I really am just going to be doing simple edits on my Mac (the clips will be 1080p-Videos taken from the T2I Rebel). In the future however, I might want to learn Aftereffects and other editing programs. I'll first be using ScreenFlow, iMovie and Final Cut X.

Don't know about you guys but I have decided to order my new iPad online this morning at 5am and then take my chances at the store today. When I places my order it said 2-3 weeks which is a bit scary!! I went for the 32gb 3G in black with the grey smart cover (yes I know I'm boring) let me know whether you have taken the same route and also whether you hear from Apple on shipping. I will hopfully be heading out to Covent Garden this afternoon to try to get my hands on one.... ATB Nick

The mediocre (at best) games keep rolling in... I hadn't been looking at this game so i'm not that disappointed at it but more the Wii market in general. Also on the IGN wii page is their less review of Cooking Mama which got a similar score, 5.8 overall. While i expected this score, the game had tons of potential to be great.
It really is a sad time for the wii right now. I haven't touched mine except for once in about 2 weeks... I borrowed my friend's excite truck and didn't find it too fun, Red Steel that i lent him was entertaining for a bit but i lost interest, beat Zelda, and conquered much of Wii Sports. What else is there? A bunch of lousy games with decent playability and lousy graphics but nothing thrilling. Until Paper Mario comes out i don't even really think i'll play Wii all that much! It's just not captivating me like it should and it's sad.
Come on developers, stop making games with half-ass graphics and weak playability. Look at games like RE on the GC and the type of graphics you can do on last gen machines, it's time to actually TEST the machine!

in order to get a new macbook i need to present a broken one to some people, ive had the black macbook for 3 years and I am tired of it overheating and burning me when browsing youtube. How could i make it appear broken without actually harming it or any data on it? i know this is a very weird question.
also can the new macbook 13" pros with the i5s handle games just as well as the previous nvidia ones? thanks

I know I can get away with using any Apple computer, but when you are spending your $$$ and you frequent rumor sites...you tend to want to see updates at the right time...not after you buy. I will buy regardless of if Apple updates the iBook or TiBook in the next month.
