The World Did Not End On May 21, 2011

As stated in the May 15, 2011 article, The World Is Not Going To End On May 21, 2011, it did not. The false prophecies of Fred Camping, led some to believe it was and regrettably they quit their jobs and sold their homes.

At the end of the day, people are responsible for reading the Bible for themselves, which clearly states, Jesus will return to earth one day, but no one but God knows the day or the hour. To those that believed Camping’s false prophecy, cheer up. God still loves you. To Camping, while the Lord does love you as well, you need to ask Him for forgiveness for leading some people astray.

Regarding the press, some where quite disrespectful in the lead up and aftermath of this story. People who speak sensibly about Christianity, the largest religion in America and the world, they don’t want on mainstream TV, because Hollywood is a depraved, modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. But those that err in the faith with false pronouncements, they make the lead story. How biased and unprofessional.

Some news and pop culture personalities kept making jokes about the story. But there is nothing funny about it, because, as stated above, some quit their jobs and sold their possessions. Mocking the faith is not going to make it any less real. Billions believe in Jesus Christ. God is still God and we shall all face Him one day. Better to face Him as a friend, rather than a facetious foe.

Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Booed At Cannes Film Festival

Somewhere Jennifer Aniston Is Smiling

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Atheist, Angelina Jolie and her now unbelieving sex partner, Brad Pitt, who was once a Baptist that believed in Jesus, were loudly booed at the glamorous Cannes Film Festival in picturesque France, where the couple went to premiere his film "The Tree Of Life."

In the Bible, God instructed Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit (apple) from the "Tree Of Good and Evil" also in the garden with the "Tree of Life" ...and they did, which initiated the fall of man. Critics so disliked Pitt's film, which is Hollywood's twisted take and unbelieving view on the faith and life, they booed the adulterous actor and his partner.

It's one thing to decide you do not believe in God anymore, but what about your six children. Why teach them to be faithless. What if the Bible is true (which I whole heartedly believe it is). What will that mean for your children's souls, when they later depart this earth and have to face God on the other side.

You should care more about your children's spiritual wellbeing and their souls, than to saddle them with your unbelief. On the current path you are on as parents, they will not thank you for it in the afterlife. You owe your children more than that.

The World Is Not Going To End On May 21, 2011

Robert Fitzpatrick

Retired New York transit worker, Robert Fitzpatrick, has wasted $140,000 in advertising money, for a series of ads insisting the world is going to come to an end on May 21, 2011. The ads state, "Global Earthquake! The Greatest Ever - Judgment Day: May 21." Judgment Day is not May 21, 2011.

I wish people would not proclaim such things and in the name of God. The Bible does speak of a day where the world as we know it will end by fire, popularly believed to be an asteroid, thus creating it anew. However, the Bible does not indicate the actual date of the event, but gives an indication of the general time period in history, based on world events that are to happen prior to this cosmic event. This is not it.

Having written that, I do believe a massive earthquake is coming to Los Angeles in the near future that is going to cause catastrophic, unprecedented damage and many deaths. I do believe it will be stronger on the Richter scale than the recent earthquakes in Haiti, Japan and Spain. It was also an imprudent idea for the state to allow people to build on such potent faults, due to the seismic shifts that occur on them. One of the most potent, San Andreas, runs right under what is now downtown Los Angeles, among other places, which is ram packed with skyscrapers. Skyscrapers and very potent earthquakes do not mix.

There is another school of thought, based on the Mayan calendar, which allegedly states, the world will end in 2012 (you know, like that stupid Sony movie). However, I am of the belief, the world will not end in 2012. I do however, believe 2012 will be a turning point for the world that will produce many events, both stunningly good and shockingly bad. But time will go on beyond next year.

The purpose of Bible prophecy is to be a source of reassurance to believers, that God is who He says He is and knows, "The Beginning from the end." God is the Creator and knows the past and the future with absolute certainty, a gift He originated and shared in part with a few prophets, such as Joseph and Daniel in the Bible.

During their time, people believed the words of the prophets, because they were able to accurately predict the future, something only God would know and could share - as God is everywhere and knows everything, when time began and when it will renew. He created time.

In closing, God wants each person to change their unethical ways, place their faith in Christ and live a good and decent life. He wants you to live each day as if the last, not try to make it the last.

When Christianity Intersects With Politics

The White House

U.S. politicians continue to court the Christian vote for the upcoming 2012 presidential election. Christians should vote according to the faith and our morals. Just because a candidate says one thing, does not mean he or she will follow through. Look at their lives, track record and history of service. Have the kept the promises they've publicly made? Have they enacted legislation that goes against the values taught in the Bible? If so, they will not fight for what matters most to Christians.
