I simply purchased a squaretrade warranty and now running naked, loving it.
If you call apple they will still give you one, as of 2 weeks ago

Thanks for all the help everyone. But I am looking for an exact measurement from the table/desktop/base of stand to the bottom of the glass just where the gray aluminum meets the glass. I know its just under three inches from bottom of imac to desktop but dont know desktop to the glass.

Try the full reset as iceterminal suggests. May cases of corrupted software can cause battery drainage. Also make sure you are running the most recent OS.
If that does not solves it and you are still on warranty take it to the Apple store for a battery replacement.
Also here is the official Apple info on battery care:
http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
Hope that helps.

Just curious.
- Internal HDD/SSD. By overwriting my previous OS (can be clean install or upgrade). (e.g. Snow Leopard)
- Internal HDD/SSD. By making a new partition and installing it there.
- External HDD/SSD. Erased HDD and just installed it.
- External HDD/SSD. Repartitioned to not lose any data and installed on a new partition.
- USB-stick/SD-card.

Didn't work for me. I also see this on two different 10.7 installs. Using the keyboard shortcuts or the menu bar to arrange by still works just no right click.
See screenshot for list of keyboard shortcuts.
Would moving the Finder preference file to your Desktop and starting help? If it's a Finder issue perhaps forcing Finder defaults may help?
Quick question, how did you install Lion? I'm asking as some people installed it over Snow Leopard and are running into issues. You can install it fresh by burning the dmg in Lion(DP1 or 2, doesn't matter but DP2 will be best)/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg to DVD or USB:
Creating a bootable OS X 10.7 Lion disc (Update: and USB stick) (http://holgr.com/blog/2011/02/creating-a-bootable-os-x-10-7-lion-disc/)
I booted up with a fresh SSD and installed fresh, and it fixed a lot of issues (such as not being able to delete any app's in Launchpad and some app's that were not working in DP2 update 2 work well).
Hope this helps! I'm gonna post a thread with this info as well in case others want to know. :)

Thanks for the replies! I just found it odd for their to be ads in the background like that, which are only visible for a micro-second. I would also never pirate an iOS app and was simply curious if those ads went away after purchasing as they were kind of annoying.

Hey everyone,
I read most threads in this forum about overheating, but it turned out that's not at all a concern in a daily basis. What is a concern, however, is the instant fan noise whenever the laptop gets under load.
It is constant when running games (always at 6000 rpm). I've tried Call of Duty IV, and Starcraft II. Also Crysis II via Boot Camp.
It may happen under Facetime.
It may happen if you leave a flash animation running in a tab.
it may happen with AirVideo Server (serving to an iPod).
Turns out there's really no middle ground for this fan. It is either audible, or isn't. With 2000 rpm you know it's there, but frankly that's barely a concern. Sometimes it turns on suddenly and goes to maximum speed in seconds, stays there for a minute or two, then drops down.
So I guess that ANY heavy load will come with fan noise. Here's what I need to ask then.
- Is this a given for Sandy Bridge?
- Do you have this kind of noise in your C2D MacBooks (Air included)?
- Is it better when you have more fans involved (larger MBP's, iMacs..)?
Like I said, it hasn't been that much a concern for most uses, because they stay under the radar. The MBP gets hot but that's not even a problem. What I get is there is a clear threshold between what you can do (silently) and what produces noise. I stopped playing games because I really cannot do with that much noise. Turns out the GPU can roll with a lot of games, but I thought the noise wasn't included. Plus I'm afraid I'll damage the laptop if the fan is on for so long.
I'm thinking I'd rather have lower processing power and silent operation. I can take a longer iPhoto import if I don't hear this fan. Help?

This server has always had a static ip and is assigned by my provider as 1 of a block of 5. I don't use the wake on lan and don't allow sleep. It should always be running and always on the static I assigned from my block. It also had not restarted in the middle of the night because the server stats showed it had been up for 44 days. The only change I had made in the past month was turning on airport and set it to join an already active network. I can understand now that there may have been a conflict in the dhcp between a couple of machines but would that have affected the server which has a static number assigned to it? It didn't affect the mail or web server in any way. Just caused the apple tv's and the local machines to forget where the media was since the path they had didn't exist anymore.

It seems so easy doesn't it? Just eight lessons in all then one becomes a concert pianist. I don't think so... my fingers have a mind of their own with the pinkie and index being the most recalcitrant... and that's my right hand! Occurs to me that finger exercises have to be mastered before beginning lesson two (perhaps some time next year). Nice idea though - so how does one begin to learn?

...or you could support DNS, and connect to for example [servername].dyndns.org (http://dyndns.com) instead of an IP address.
You can then edit the /etc/hosts file (or equivalent) on your LAN computer(s) to point to 192.168.1.2 instead of resolving the public IP through name servers.

Spymac's been a joke ever since they added the 1GB email. The community's almost evaporated since then, and it's being kept alive by a few trolly spammers.
It's amusing that they initially launched their products as an exclusive range, but now they're more than likely overstocked with a pile of overpriced stuff, the prices are affordable.
The Spymac appreciated by so many disappeared a good while ago. The eventual demise will not be past time.

Fine, fine. *envy*
Damn, always playing catch up. When i used wireframes, everyone was using flat shading. When i reached there, everyone was using texture mapped gourauds and phongs. After that was ray-tracing and now when i have implemented it with soft shadows, everyone is using path-tracing and derivatives. And my editor uses steam power. It took years to make.
Feel like Janina. (It's a Pin-Up. Model over 18 and in Finland pigtails no toddler make)

It would be neat to mod that somehow with Sims 2. Make it feel like you're "in the game." Then again, your guests may start to think that you "have no life." ;)
That would be cool.
Or you can have stars up, give that feeling of living on another planet.
