I regularly visit IV and to my dismay "July 2 filers - Receipt Tracking" thread stays in the top 5 updated threads throughout the DC rally planning period. Many people on this tracking thread are not seen on any other thread :confused:
Previously those people were on VB thread ... now those people have got a promotion... those people are now on tracking thread:(

By "those people" I mean the people that come to the forums only to either track which mail room boy signed for a package, or argue about who bad the inactivity of movement on a Priority Date movement would be.
"Those people" are not here to contribute, they aren't here to help anyway. They aren't interested in meeting their lawmakers, or attending a rally.
In all honesty, "those people", who are busy tracking not predicting probably don't give 2 hoots about bulletins anymore, they are content with 10 years of EAD / AP renewals but doing nothing to change that.

No. This was the recommended workaround by a parents group that intended to file a PIL at one point. I will be able to try this next year though. I will send out the letter above too.

Thanks NYC gal for taking inititaive on this. your help is very much appreciated. i have changed the name of this thread to include 'contacting media'. members can use your letter template/modify it and contact news organizations they list on this thread.

I don't know if this question has been asked before. Is there a benefit for filing AP by paper rather then electronically. I filed EAD by paper to TCS and got the "Card Production Ordered" email yesterday (in 14 days) for myself and my wife. My friends who efiled just received finger printing appointment notification and no receipts. Is there same benefit with AP? Please calrify.

On a serious note though, flight ticket is a small price to pay compared to the other losses that we are suffering because of status quo.

I know there are a lot of ppl on this forum who have been in the US 6+ years and because of BEC/retrogression are thinking of moving to Canada. I am not suggesting that we should leave but I think its good to have a plan B.
Feel free to discuss matters like below (related to moving to Canada/Aus/India)
1. Canadian immigration process.
2. Finding jobs in canada.
3. Continuing current education (MS/MBA) in canada.
4. Operating current business from canada.
5. Move related issues: Taking household goods/cars etc.
6. Getting settled in canada.
7. Letting the GC process continue here.
8. Financial Matters: What happens to bank a/c's, 401K etc.
Anything else you can think of :-)

It is not over till its over. Anything can happen, we have a lot of things going for us. The present congress wants to show that it is not a 'do nothing' congress. Our items can be a part of any appropriations or other bills. AILA is pushing big time for H1-B1 and EB Relief, so are other vested business interests. This is the last chance they get to get an increase in H1-B1 for this year(They probably are not so much interested in EB-relief), But we can piggyback on most bills dealing with H1-B1 increase, our provisions will be in there.

Your good fight on the retrogression issue kind of kept us going without giving up. In just a few days what some of you have done with www.immigrationvoice.org is amazing and it truly deserves a lot better than the faint response they have got so far from all of us in this legal black hole. Honestly, I do not care if we are not able to raise 100K dollars for the lobbying efforts for the next immigration bill on February. I don not care if this money is finally lost. It will be money well spent if we all realize that we have to do something instead of waiting years and years and years� Any money is worth the effort regarding our goals, even if our present intention does not succeed. Is worth it!!. Lets move on, hoping for the best� It is worth to try this next immigration bill. Any money spent on this is worth it� Can not you guys see it? More and more years on this black hole!! More years paying our lawyers for H1B renewal, more years for renewal of our driving licenses, more years for our wives to wait, more years for our employers exploiting us� This next immigration bill could be our last chance in many years to get our unfair and sad situation known and probably solved. We would at least raise enough concern about the absurd situation of the legal immigrants� It could be a new Quixote tale, I do not care� A good part of my next paycheck will go to immigrationvoice� Whatever� Keep America growing� America is not just them�. She will be in AOS Pending status after Oct 1st, 2007 due to pending I-485 application. EAD does not provide any status.
What is your status? I assume H1-B. You can file for H1 and H4 extensions.
