You changed on h1b transfer right? not on EAD?
I am just curious if a new employer can keep extending h1b based on previous employers I140 (and the fact that 180 days have passed since 485).

What is the relation between a 3 year H1B Approval granted on an approved I-140 and the underlying I-140 petition ? Specifically, what happens if an employee leaves the company, are the remaining years (out of 3 granted originally) still valid ? What happens if the original employer revokes/cancels the underlying peition on which the extension was originally granted ? Is the H1B petition based on a an approved I-140 linked to that I-140 in anyway once it (H1B petition) is approved ? Wasn't it Condi who said that this fiasco was a 'small inconvenience' to the applicants ?? I am a july 2007 filler as well and my GC was approved last month though the processing date was few months behind. I know some other cases as well whose 485 was approved when the processing date was not current. So i would say that just stay positive and keep your fingers crossed. Happy days should be just around the corner.

:) if an RFE was issued, that means some of the evidences submitted are not enough to prove that the I-140 is "approvable". I dont want to argue, but "approvable" is the exact term used by USCIS.
what if there is an rfe on the 140 when the case is not approved (but is approvable) and the employee has already quit? wont the 140 sponsor have to respond saying that employee nada exists? so, even though "approvabe" may be the right legalese, isnt "approved" more practical and relevant for us as beneficiaries.

gnrajagopal, i would call USCIS customer service and talk to them about this.. better to get it confirmed.
I am inclined to believe that you are approved.. they just haven't updated their system yet or mabybe the system didn't get updated somehow.

We recd. our 485 approval last week and recd. the cards in the mail earlier this week. We were interviewed at the local USCIS for our 485's, 2 weeks ago. It went really smooth and case was approved the same day as the interview.
I would like to whole-heartedly thank IV core and all IV members. This site has been an amazing resource of information & support for us thru our journey. I became a IV member during the July 2007 fiasco. We were there at the IV rally in DC in Sept 2007, have attended local chapter meetings. We will continue to support IV in it's mission.

It's hard to predict EB-2 vs. EB-3 movement but I would think that an earlier PD is the way to go.

Even the recent bird flu hotspots are confined mostly in Asia. In this sense, swine flu seems to have turned this perception on its head, at least for now, and countries like USA, CANADA, and some in Europe suddenly find themselves somewhat "untouchable" (to be fair, USA is guilty only by association, by sharing border with Mexico, the genuine swine flu hotspot).

Unfortunately your current job experience can not be used for the GC process. If you want to start the EB2, you need to find job

Sounds like a good idea...for those of us who missed the summer 2007 bus, this may be the only way of getting to an EAD status in the near future, going by the recent Visa bulletins and retrogression of EB2 & non-availability of EB3 year-round.
