I got 2nd FP notice (first one was done in Aug 2007). I was not expecting this as my PD is oct 15 2001, EB3, Mera Bharat Mahan(India), off by 3 days with the current and next bulletin.
Its code 1, so only finger prints.
What is the logic behind FP for every 15 months??

It shows that the interpretation of law is not same everywhere.
some people get it easily and some dont. Bridgeport, CT DMV is very crowded most of the time and tough to get things done. There are a lot of people of a kind that come there and it is tough. you must try Westport etc kind of areas next time.

I am now in NYC and have to get NY license and just to play it safe , am planning to get the license when I get my h1b 3 year extension which will be applied sometime beginning next year.

I went through the Federal Firearm Law and here is what I found:
(d) It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person�
(5) who, being an alien�
(A) is illegally or unlawfully in the United States; or
(B) except as provided in subsection (y)(2), has been admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa (as that term is defined in section 101(a)(26) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(26)));

As I mentioned in my post, I had a resident Indian A/C - account that was opened when I was legally a resident Indian (salary a/c incidentally). No way it can be confused with one of N/RE/O accounts. I had INR in my account. It was wired over to my account here in the US, I got $s. Simple. If you look through the link that I posted, ICICI's instructions are quite clear - you can say family maintenance as a good reason.
As a couple of people commented in subsequent posts, it is straightforward to send money, INR to $.
I read somewhere that according to RBI rules an NRI is not supposed to maintain any regular account in INDIA. One can only ve NRO/NRE accounts.
You said yu got the money from the old account. Do you think it was all according to RBI regulations

Remember, 245i cases were the NOT the same as the mexican illegal aliens that are being spoken of in relation to CIR .. lots of educated, legal H1-Bs lost their jobs (and their legal status) during the dot com burst of 2000 - 2002. Some of them stayed on even after going out of status, and then became eligible to file for GC under 245i.And needless to say, many more of those H1s came from India than mexico.
There are also Non-RIR cases that were applied in apr 2001 still pending in BEC. I personallly know few of my friends whose labor is still pending in BEC with PD apr 22 , 2001.

You've got it.
You do not have to copy the USCIS. Be nice and polite. Explain that you applied for EAD more than 90 days ago. Provide your I-765 receipt number.
Ask them to follow procedures in Aytes memo. Show the memo. Ask them to contact NSC where your I-765 is pending and alert them about your situation. (Contact NBC or Service Center to initiate EAD production—either Interim or Non-Interim). Ask them to provide Notice to you acknowledging status inquiry. If IO refuses to do that, ask to talk to the supervisor and repeat the above. It works. Basically, the federal regulations require them either to issue EAD in 90 days or issue interim EAD.

Thanks for the reply , let me file the H1 transfer with Employer2 now in "Premium route" with the I-140 approval from Employer1 and see if we get a approval. Once i get a approval , i think stamping it wont be an issue after 7-8 months even thought Employer1 has revoked that I-140 ?
However i want to clear even if the Employer1 revokes this I-140 my PD still remains locked - right ???
This is not clear for retaining a priority date when I-140 is revoked. As per a US CIS memorandum, when I-140 is revoked for misrepresentation or fraud, person won't be able to carry the PD over. On the other hand, there are regulations that state that beneficiary would no longer be able to carry over the priority date in the event of I-140 being revoked.
Please note that the memorandum does not have the force of law.

There is something which is personal...buying a house is one such...opinion poll shouldn't decide that....GC or not if you feel like buy one...
We went thru the same decision 3 years back but not buying a house was one of the best decisions....the best way is to ask people who are selling houses....in the northeast it is a hell to sell houses.
My suggestion if you are a medico or a lawyer go ahead....but being attached to the tech sector is no safety net for buying a house....I have had friends with 300K take home file for bankruptcy in this economy after both members loose very lucrative jobs....just a statistic...by 2010 more than 50% households in the USA will owe more for mortgage than their houses net worth.....
Again it is an individualistic decision....go ahead if you feel confident...two things you must make sure you are in the house for at least 3 years....tax savings are no security...house tax and work on the house do add costs up....

I agree with jonty and nixtor...that was the point I put out as a counter during our discussion. But the underlying sense is similar to what is there for illegal immigration: border fence. Humanitarian grounds is not an excuse you could use it with Congress men and women. Revamping Maths and Science in US schools is the exact justification against highskilled_immigration. Just like the border fence for illegal immigration, I wonder the issue in waiting against our efforts for fixing retrogression of highskilled immigration would be 'Show US born could start their training and educaction first' ...
Again, my visa number too is retrogressed too and I am not doing a kaka here to throw water on flames of enthusiasm but reporting my followup with some loud-noise-makers in DC.. The posting was infact to show what we are against and how much we all need to do.
