Few months ago while googling about GC related stuff I came across a link, which, after going through few subsequent links, lead me to a link on the dol website from where I downloaded these databases. They are very huge (> 30 MB) so if you tell me (PM) you employer name and PD then I can look through the database and let you know the job title and code.

Always advicible to use H1B renewal and H1B transfer, recommend not to use EAD.
If you plan to change employer and what if he revokes your I 140. so better to renew.
And what if you plan to renew EAD and it gets delayed ( you can go for interim) so why take risk.

Thanks for the replies....but its been more that 180 days since I applied I-485, and my I-140 is approved, so revoking I-140 is out of the question. I would prefer to use AP instead of using H1, the trouble of going to the consulate when you travel......So, one more Q, Can we show our AP, even after we work on the H1 extension at the POE ?

Not sure the precise definition of passive exists. I would take it to be not involved in any business decisions or day-to-day running of the business. Just putting in the money and letting the CEO and the rest make all the decisions as in buying stock is passive. I may be wrong.

There is no issue with going for fingerprinting after getting GC. So no big deal if that is your concern. They will not cancel your daughter's green card just because she went for fingerprinting responding to the notice received from USCIS. Don't think too much. Your GC might be in the pipeline. The problem might occur when you file for citizenship, you have to justify why you dint work after getting the GC. However it is not written in stone that if you dont work for your petitioning company the officer will deny your citizenship or revoke your GC. They will look at the totality of the circumstances, since you worked for the petitioner for some time, they may not make a determination that the job offer was speculative, you have to show that you had every intention of working for them and the company had every intention of hiring you, maybe they can give a letter stating that they continue to market you and will re-hire as soon as the economy imporves. If your company finds a project for you, you should continue to work for them. Or you could have done AC-21 after the I-140 was approved and before the I-485 was approved.

In employment-based immigration, an I140 is an immigrant petition according to the law. So most likely INS will determinate one must work for 3 years before the I140 is filed. Many people think that an immigrant petition means filing for I485, but I don't think that the case. I140 is the immigrant petition.
