In theory you are right. But practically Very big corporations/companies have recently started a practice not to hire a person on EAD if I-140 is not clearly approved. Why? Lawyers advise them to do so. I have been hired by very prestigious company recently of course on EAD and first thing they wanted to make a check was on whether I have I-140 approved or not. Secondly they ask if I could submit 3 years audit report for "previous employer". That could make sense to me as it was a clear hint that they wanted to check whether I am coming from good financial based company or not... Why? The reason is that if that would not have been the case then there could be the chance of denying I-140 although it was approved. At least in my network of friends I am the third person who experienced this level of scrutiny before hiring on EAD. The reason is simple. They do not want to hire a guy who can not work at some time of the initial period due to I-140 related problems. So bottom line, I-140 approval is must nowadays for working in big corporations with EAD.

I think there are more than 6500 people here who are suffering from this disease then, about time we find a cure for it?
I am also among these 6500 people who are suffering but I still some time realize that its just a bad thing and should not be there in my mind. I know that its best country to live and best country to earn money and return to india but these are only excuses of remain sick. Sickness is sickness and being great, getting peace of mind, being honest is some thing else. Now dont comment me saying you thing you are great.

.. but if "the law is the law" and there is no room for "interpretation" then lawyers will be out of business :)
I guess that is why congress also publishes the "intent of congress" with every legislative bill to guide interpretations, because there will be situations and cases which test the limits of law and they cannot visualize that while writing a law.

Most of us wont get GC easily for 5-6 yrs even though our's is accepted
July 2nd .... But at least we will get EAD & AP and work and travel freely
with our choice of employers and clients. :)

Everybody knows this.. I didn't quite understand what you meant to convey. What I meant was that even if my I-485 is accepted(i did not say even if I get my GC)

I think we should not care 'Is Murthy doing for her publicity / money?' as long as it serves our purpose. We should respect people who are trying to help us . and many folks are blaming she is money minded.... but u know what she runs law firm not non-profitable organization.

Not Correct. One must have a LC job offer and it must be available at all times since PD to the date of I-485 approval.

FBI security clearance has been a blackhole with many people stuck in it without having a hope of relief in sight.Everyone might have tried the senetors, congressman, snail-mails and Faxes but of no use.
How about the following new methods:
1. Send a collective petition, A common letter requesting FBI, president with the details of all those stuck in the process.
2. A letter to the news channels.
3. Web fax to the senators/congressman
Please share your ideas.
I would actually also suggest requesting a meeting with both senators and congressperson in your area, rather than sending a webfax.
How about the following new methods:

Each year the new quota is 140K , as long as the new demand each year ~100K - the remaining 40K goes towards backlog elimination . We will know in the next inventory report what is "net" reduction for 2010. One can do rough math of latest inventory report and the current priority dates to arrive at ~approximate figure of 35-40K.
I think EB3 should get cleared in next 5 years - I think flood of new EB2 applications are overblown.
