I work for Fortune 100 company and we are celebrating Diwali on Friday. There are flyers on all the corners and are expecting more than 500 co-workers for pot-luck lunch. And the best part, organizer and main activists are non-Indian. So its just another festival in the mix that everybody is looking to enjoy. This is our first gathering followed by 4-5 more before end of the year.

I feel for all of you whose EAD is not yet receive. When my EAD was pending for more than 90 days, I wrote an email to the Ombudsman. I don't know if it helped or not. I just got RFE notice 4 days after sending the email. After replying to the RFE (photos), I got my EAD with no problems.

What is I140 tracking number? How to get it?(I don't have any info about my i140 - only that it was approved and I have h1 extension petition of 3 yrs based on that.)
And did you request part info or full info therein? Your case is a light in tunnel- you got the info in about 3 months - right?

I think you can put a date atleast starting from when you are expected to receive the receipt notice. Once you have the notice, you could go to local USCIS office, show the receite and prove your emergent situation and request for immediate AP.

One of my colleagues, got his GC last yr (EB2, PD 2006) in Aug. 2008 even though his receipt date (Aug. 2007 as per receipt by Texas center)
was not honored.
I believe that even receipt date is not honored if the case has cleared all formalities and PD is current.

After apology/providing GC, they are going to provide settlement assistance as a welcome gift....
Right!!! and in the future bulletins, the dates will continue to move to the future and all the FOBs will be forced to take the GC at the POEs else they will be denied entry into the US of A.

Your frustration is understandable. But, the reason for such a situation is not because of IV.
Things are not working for a lot of people and yes, things are very very difficult.
Behind thee scenes IV is building a strong organization. People approach IV saying they can help in all possible ways, IV coordinator talks to them and coordinates efforts.
Lots of efforts are happening in background.
Fresh new ideas are welcome and initiatives are also welcome. Today I started a new campaign along with a team dedicated for this. Behind the scenes I picked some real good members , talked to them and everyone are charged up to do something.
On an open forum all IV can say isJoj a state chapter, donate to IV.
So if you are interested, contact IV and someone will connect with you

Hey, I'm about as Anglo Saxon as you get, and I wish all Hindus here and their families a happy Diwali. I also sent a Diwali card to a friend earlier this week.
Just a matter of respect for others and their cultures.
There is a point that we are viewed (incorrectly) as an Indian group.
However, let's not ban Diwali, or Christmas, or any other celebrations.
I don't think it is very popular when ACLU sues local governments that put up certain Christmas decorations.
