I did refered earlier in this forum ,about www.givemeinsurance.com , a desi agent deals with Farmers Insurance in Texas only.
I got mine and my wife insurance with him for $15 a month covering 250K Term Life insurance ( We are on H1 )

I disagree that the situation is very bad.
It is bad only for those that are laid off on H1B. All others have EAD and are happy. They will realize the bad situation only when they cannot take a promotion or salary raise or cannot change job due to same and similar. Or if I485 gets an RFE or denial.
If the situation was bad, more people would be serious about your idea including you. Even you are not willing to do anything yourself other than asking others to do it. So this is the fate of immigrant community. We all do not want to do anything ourselves unless we ourseves are in a bad situation.

Apply on the date your 6 months are left. Use the couple of months before that to follow up with your employer and Lawyer and get all paperwork done and application packet ready. If lawyer or the employer is slow, then one needs to push them since ultimately you are going to be affected and nobody else.
The onus is on the H1B worker to be diligent and not leave everything to the last few months. DMV is only following the rules. Maybe some of them are not aware of the rules. The issue of not getting license despite H1B approvals, and H4s not getting DL is something one can take up as an issue with media and authorities. But just because the person did not bother to get the H1B extended until the last moment cannot be an excuse for relief when we approach the authorities.
In some situations you would want to delay filing of your H1 extension.
I did exactly this as my I140 has been delayed in background check since October 2006. I did not want to rush with filing my H1 extension as I could benefit from getting a 3 year extension instead of 1. Unfortunately USCIS never took a decision on my I-140 case till date even after I upgraded to premium processing in June. What I am saying is we are getting a good amount of attention from a lot of newspapers - which is important to create more awareness on the plight of half a million law abiding immigrants and the backlogs they are facing.

I only meant if you have the native country license already or if you can get it remotely. Leaving the US for the express purpose of getting you native country license would be an overkill...as you would agree :)
Unfortunately, I can't leave the US for the following reasons
a) AOS pending
b) H1 expiring soon
c) Won't get any vacation time as just joined a new job.

Average fee hike is $500 but average reimbursement of expenses would be atleast $1000
As per various lawyers' web-sites -- It is highly unlikely that there will be reimbursement of expenses even if case is won.

if the average cost of the house is 250000, thats additional 31.25 Billion $ in credit borrowing... where is the money?

None of those would indicate that you were on the bench.
The emp letter should basically just indicate your dates for employment - start/end date, designation, duties and perhaps salary. that's all.

I am suprprised if IV is working towards abiltiy to file 485 and hard country limit...Just want to know how IV is working towards these 2 items...
If any of these two wont show out in coming bill,..then I would say goodbye to IV..because all other items in bill were there without IV;s interaction....

There was no RFE at all . Infact I was following up my case through my congressman's office and we always got responce back from uscis saying it is under "Security review" .
The email says "application denied." if it says RFE , I would not have such a shock .
it was reall gard day for me y'day when I sow that . I was almost on the werge of closing a house deal this month and with this 485 issue , I don' think I want to take the risk of buying the house now.
Though I do have little bit hope if it is because 140 revoke and we can prove the AC21 documents , it will get through .

Within 2 days, status changed to "card production ordered". Before, we had sent expedite request also.
