Before this thread spirals into a controversial discussion, I'd like to clarify that some members may be desperate to see the results but they have to understand that it will take time. So be patient and please stop writing accusing posts, even if you mean it in a lighter vein. It will do no good to any of us.
Any one who understands how american politics work should realize that we are in a conundrum and the best way to get out of this is to recruit more members to represent us.
Now dont waste time posting useless messages like this one:p on this forum and divert your energy towards recruiting new members.

I'm a July 2nd filer (EB3, ROW, PD Aug 2005) and I got my receipts, fingerprint notices and husband's EAD on Aug 23rd. Still no AP for either, and no EAD for me (but I'm the H1-B, so it could be worse... at least my husband now has a job! :D )

Please read Yates memo for clarification.
I think AC21 can only be used successfully if your I-140 has been approved. But again if you read the previous post by my2cent , I think that makes sense as it all depends on employer.
As for AC21 law, it is associated with an approved I-140 and not a pending I-140.

Dear Friends
My I-140 (Sch-A cat-II, recipt date 08/24/2006, upgraded to premium on Oct-25) got approved on Oct-30, 2006
My I-485 was also filed concurrently. I already got finger printed 09/06/06 and there were LUDs on I-485s after that on O9/07/06 and 09/14/06.
After my I-140 approval on Oct-30, My and my families I-485s has LUDs on 10/31/06 and 11/1/06.
Based on your experience, does the recent LUDs on my I-485s suggest some type of approval process?
Can you share your expereiences and knowledge and tell me what these recent LUDs on my I-485s means?

Nope...once you have used your EAD you cannot go back to H1-B. AFAIK.

I'm planning to use my EAD or do H1 transfer. So far I have good relations with my employer.If I speak to my employer about my plans will he be able to hurt my case like thru I140 or any otherway?
After I switch jobs will I be able to go back to my old employer if I would want to .

Even if your employer revokes (unlikely as he will have to bear legal expenses on an issue that he cannot win) your 140, it will have no effect. All you have to do is be ready with your new offer letter and maintain the labor wages in your new employment. In previous years desi companies used to reuse the labor by revoking the 140 once an employee quits. Now labor reuse also has been plugged by USCIS. You can peacefully go ahead and change your employment.
Any reason that you want to go back to your old employer? Why quit in the first place than...

Update to my case. Submitted Originally on July 2nd for I-140/I-1485. USCIS Sent back everything on Aug�28 stating Original Labor missing. Attorney sent back the case on Sep 11th with a cover letter that the labor could be requested by USCIS to DOL. The copy of ETA9089 & certified online copy was attached with the original case. I was hoping that they will accept the case this time as I have seen similar cases where they accept the case and issue RFE at a later date. Attorney also mentioned that he got receipts for similar cases like this.
Today- USCIS returned back the application (both I-140 & I-1485) with the letter saying that the dates are not current even though the date stamped was July 2nd on the case. I talked to attorney and he is planning to send the case back to them giving examples on the similar cases and putting a strong cover letter. The final plan of action still needs to be finalized. Looks like I am the unlucky one presently from the batch of 400 K applications. I don�t know how to express my pain, agony frustration I have gone through the last 4 months. I don�t have words to express myself but just feel so terribly sad and disappointed from this whole process I have been going through... I am also planning to contact the local senators /congressman and sought their help & attention.

I modified the height instead of the scaleY for the grid and that seemed to work. However I got some unexpected results. When I used the scaleY method all the children in the grid also scaled. But using height left the children's height unaffected. Is this how it should be? It seems strange that the grid below it would slide up as I had hoped yet the upper grid's child textbox and label sizes stay the same and in place.

Sounds like someone at SSN office who may not know much about immigration.
If your I 797 came with attached I94, then you certainly can apply for SSN card. Just ask for supervisor at the SS office and talk to them.
If your I 797 does not have attached I 94 (meaning that you are still in H4 status), then I do not know for sure what the procedure would be to apply for SS card.

If your H1 approval notice did not come with the I-94 printed on it, then Canada is definitely an option to get it stamped, however its always better to get the first time stamping done in your home country.
You could also get your status changed while in US, but that would take additional fees and time. Speak to your H1-b sponsor about it.
btw, I would still check the approval notice to make sure that notice does not have an I-94 printed on the bottom of it. The I-94 printed at the bottom of the notice will have the same I-94 number as the one you have stapled to your passport, but will now have your status as H1 instead of H4.

You made a good point...US media highlights issues based on what it likes and presents it to the people the way they want it to be. US hates 'Ahmedinejad' so they are highighting the opponents..as if the opponent would have been any different for the US..US Media standards reached a new low with their double-standards in covering the Iranian election protests. Looks like US media wants to manipulate their citizens with one-sided information and only those news that media DECIDES are in the interest of the people.

My DL is going to be expired in Nov and I have H1 stamped till Jan 08. I received EAD till Sep 08. I am planning to go to DMV to renew the DL. I will be carrying EAD and Passport (with H1b stamp). Please note that I have not applied H1B extn so far. I have following questions:
1) Will I get my DL extended till Jan 08 (based on H1b) or Sep 08 (based on EAD)?
2) If they extend DL based on EAD, will I loose H1 status as I used EAD?
3) I live in VA, can someone pls share his/her experience in this regard ?
