In this admin fix initiative we are working on other possible good provisions that are possible.
Is the following (or can it be) a part of the Admin Fix Initiative? :-
Allow I-485 filing and/or obtaining EAD,AP benefits when I-140 is approved irrespective of priority date being current. This will help many of us who missed the July 07 boat.

The Ombudsman estimates submission of 500K-750K (yes 500K) AOS applications between June 1 and August 17 2007. Most of these applications will be from India and China.

So far EAD renewal has been taking ?? months. With the additional applications it will take ?? months and we will have to apply for renewal after ?? months.
The security check backlog appears likely to get worse, if a new immigration bill is enacted as millions of undocumented immigrants would also apply for legalization.
If you were unmarried at the time of filing, you will need to continue on current status (e.g. H-1B) otherwise you cannot bring your spouse.

As OBAMA is going to have meeting this monday it will clear lots of things for us.
Biggest one is if there will be a CIR or not ? if yes then what is time frame.
if he signals yes for CIR discussion ( I am not saying passing ) then all these bills will be crap. and we should start lobby and advocay. If he doesnot think for CIR for year or two then we can push for this one as we will not have any agenda left. ( Except same and simmilar job )

Which center did you apply and where did you send the supporting documents?
Did you send it to the address generated on the receipt?
We applied for my wife EAD/AP on June 7, 2010 (E-file)
Her EAD was approved in few weeks back but there is nothing on her AP.
Her LUD change was on 6/11/2010 when they issued the receipt.
We called USCIS and initiated SR. Still no change in LUD.
Infopass is not a great option for us (3 hour drive one way). Any help is appriciated.
(We used to have POJ trick for calling NSC IO directly,

if its a 10 year visa...i doubt there should be a concern about visa renewal.
Hopefully in 10 years you have GC and USC :)
But to answer your question...as long as you are not overstaying the 6 months there should be no legal issues. Ofcourse there is no such guarantee as it is upto the visa issuing officer's discretion

Thanks to everybody for this heated debate. While reading through it - there were times I was left thinking - instead of spending 5 minutes writing stuff here , why dont we use that 5 minutes to call up a friend and get him to register and webfax. I was about to write it when I realized I can myself do it - so I went around my office and there are 8 people who sent webfaxes already in the last 10 mins - now I think I've the right to write this :-)
I agree we all are going through a stressful period and we can decide to either sit back and hope things work out as and when they do or to go ahead and try to do something ourselves. Initially, I wasnt very sure if IV would be able to achieve much and hence, didnt even register here. But lately I realized even if they dont achieve much, atleast they are trying their best. And I believe its better to try and fail rather than do nothing and think of what if situations.
I dont know whether IV will be able to get an amendment, whether I'll get my GC in the near future, will I get to the point in my career where I should be and where I'm not coz of GC but one thing for sure, I'll know I tried to change the system and this is something I can pass on to my next generation as a matter of pride.
Just my 2 cents and thanks for bearing with me if you read through it all.
Now, I need to get on the phone and see if I can get more people involved in this.

My wife has a H1 since oct 2006 till date she hasn't worked and hence has no pay stubs. her passport has a F2 visa. I want to convert her visa to H4. Her employer is asking for 6k to generate 3 paystubs for 3 months. I dont want to pay so much. if we go to canada to get H4 stamping will they ask for her pay stubs or just my pay stubs are enough.
Is there any chance of rejection. also can I go to canada for stamping or do i have to go to home country.
is there any site or posting that explains the process of applying for H4 in canada.
