One of my Friend's Wife had same issue and She got H4 stamping from her country with out any problem. Visa officer asked paystub/w2's of spouse (H1b holder) and not dependent's and least bother about her previous status. Do not attach her H1b document while applying Visa.

The very reason why we join this forum so that we can, as whole, say something that may influence the law makers of this country to change the existing laws so that our problem with GC will be resolve.
Alot of times the comments in this forum are completely irrelevant and very insulting to the Americans. And here, we are asking them to please change your laws so we could live happily in their county. And if they say no, that's their right.
I am as frustrated as anyone here and I know people from other countries including Australia, Philippines, UK and China who have been waiting for years as well.
If we could please make our comments "not country-centric", I am sure more people will join this forum.
I know several people are not participating in this forum anymore because they are turned off by these country-centric comments.
It hurts, but that's the truth.

If I understand your question correctly, then if you are using H1 then you need to be on payroll all the time. Does not matter whether or not using AC21. This applies even after 180 days of your AOS. If you use EAD then you can be without a job.

10,000 * $ 60,000 = $ 600 Million (right away gets pumped into the market)

Indian media it seems is confused on H1b visas and greencard process. They have on various occasions reported incorrect news on immigration legislation. Getting an H1B visa seems to be the be all and end all solution to come as a permananent resident of this country. While H1B visa is a non-immigrant visa, Greencard is the immigrant visa.
We want this article to solely focus on Greencards. The title can be like --"In Search of the Green Card". The article can be such that general public in India is educated and made aware of the struggles to achieve the coveted GC.
Make sure to write it as if you are a representative (member) of Immigration Voice and mention ImmigrationVoice name a few times in the article. Write aboout what immigration voice is doing to solve this problem and how this grassroots movement has grown nationwide and will enable a change in the broken immigrationsystem for high-skilled immigrants.

In 2005 my first kid got an OCI as the rules were diiferent then but in 2009 the current rule is that one parent MUST be a US citizen and I had to take a PIO for my second kid in 2009.
Following is from the FAQ`s of Indian consulate at SFO
6. Are minor children whose both parents are Indian citizens eligible for OCI?

Think of it this way. Conservative estimations say that in the recent application rush, USCIS received 300K applications.
That is 2 year's worth of applications alone, not including those already at USCIS.
If you compound that with the asinine 7% country limit, and assume that there are MUCH more than 7% of that 300K from Indian nationality - I'd say you are looking at much longer than a 3 year wait on average. I'd guestimate 7 years.
The only way this will change is to support the DC rally. We are getting major traction and positive news on this and it's potential affects. Please do everything you can to come.
There are people offering to pay 100% of airfare, there are free buses being set up. There are very few valid reasons not to come!

I cant tell you how much i was moved by the momentum that got generated during the 'black' weekend before christmas. One can tell the excitement and enthusiasm among the sufferers in this community. I wholly appreciate the efforts taken in setting up this site and following up on the issues. We need to generate the same kind of membership as we saw during that weekend.

I understand by reading your posts that it will be totally transparent and will be detailed out every week. But its more important for people to know before hand on how and why money is needed, before they can open up their purses generously. I got a FP notice for next month. It is certainly not related to AP or EAD renewal, since I don't have any pending AP or EAD renewal. I got my EAD renewed last March and AP in May. So hoping that I got the FP notice since they started looking at my 485 application and something positive will be end result.
