Parents-to-be: David Schwimmer and wife Zoe Buckman are 'thrilled' to be expecting their first child

David Schwimmer and wife Zoe Buckman have announced they are expecting their first child together.

The couple, who married in June of this year, are happy and excited at the idea of being parents.

And a rep for the former Friends actor says the couple 'couldn't be more thrilled'.

David, 44, met British photographer Zoe, 25, in 2007 when he was in London directing Run, Fat Boy, Run with Simon Pegg.

She was working as a waitress at the time and served David's table at the Cuckoo Club in London's West End.

Best friends forever: David starred in hit TV show Friends from 1994 to 2004

Soon after meeting the actor, Zoe left her home in Stoke Newington, north London and moved to Los Angeles to be with him.

They announced their engagement in early 2010.

David once said he was willing to wait as long as it took for him to feel ready to have a family.

'I think it's gonna have to wait until I settle down and have a family,' he told People magazine back in 2006.

'It will happen when it feels right. Maybe part of me is waiting for myself to slow down a little and be ready to stay put. I'm confident it's gonna happen.'
